Victory Isn't Just A Score

The youth sports program at the Y has four goals regardless of the skill level of each child:  skill improvement, knowledge growth, character development, and most importantly fun. Each instructional program is focused on giving children an equal opportunity to improve in game fundamentals, game knowledge, sportsmanship and teamwork, appropriate competition, while having fun.  Children are divided by combined age groups in each instructional program based on enrollment. We believe an important component of YMCA Youth Sports is the concept of fair play and respect for oneself, one's opponent and others involved in competition. Players, volunteer coaches, officials, and spectators share a responsibility for fair play and good sportsmanship. Good sportsmanship for the YMCA is encompassed by the concept of positive character development.

Flag Football

Flag Football is designed for boys and girls ages 3-10. All players will be taught the basic fundamentals of Football. Kids will have the opportunity to experience the game from different positions.

Volunteer coaches & team moms are needed! Coach's meeting will be announced at a later date.

Games will be played on Saturday mornings from October 2 - October 30

Flag Football Cheerleading

This program is designed for girls ages 4-10. They will learn basic fundamental cheers and chants to present on flag football game day. YMCA cheerleading offers girls the chance to get active and have some fun meetings new friends and learning new skills. Cheerleaders will build self-confidence and self-esteem while developing social skills and healthy relationships with other girls.

Gymnastics and Cheer

Little Rollers

Ages 18 months-3 years

This is a Parent + Child class. Basic gymnastics skills teaching coordination, movement and balance.

Kinder Gymnastics

Ages 3-6 years

Kids participate on their own, with fun activities including tumbling, teaching coordination, movement, balance, and music appreciation.

Ages 4-10 years

Spread some CHEER! While   meeting new friends. Learn new cheer chants and  yells, tumbling, and cheerleading stunts.

This program is designed for youth & adults ages 7 and up. Participants will learn balance, coordination, memory skills, safety skills, and team work. Benefits of martial arts practice in increased self confidence, improved self esteem, self control and increased physical fitness. Learn self defense tactics that are easy to learn and practical to execute in real life. Shorin Ryu Karate is the main focus of this class. Taekwondo and Ju Jitsu will also be explored.

Weight Room Orientations

The weight room is open to everyone, ages 7 and up.  For youth ages 7-14, they  must complete a strength training orientation with one of our Health and Wellness staff. Our staff can help you get off to a great start by teaching you how to correctly use the equipment in the weight room. This orientation is mandatory for all members ages 7-14 who wish to use the weight room. After completion of the training, youth ages 7-11 must be accompanied by an adult every time they enter the weight room until they reach the age of 12 years.
