The West Side Development Center is located at 601-A Rev. Dr. Ransom Howard St., Port Arthur, TX
The West Side Development Center is now under the management of YMCA of SOUTHEAST TEXAS. The vision of the facility is one of hope and growth–a place to revive and develop the community, an investment in the development of the nonprofit and residential community by offering training and programs. Motiva provided funds to Port Arthur for Positive Action (PAPA) and upon completion of the building project PAPA donated the facility to the City of Port Arthur.
The vision and mission of the center is to serve as a location where non-profit organizations can provide services and deliver programs for residents. Because of the unique purpose of the facility the YMCA of Southeast Texas was contracted as a partner to administer the facility.
The facility provides office space for non-profits that will in turn assist many of the West Side community on a short term basis. Opportunities for training and education will also be available in the center, utilizing the meeting rooms available.
