Summer Day Camp 2023

What's unique about a Y summer?

When school’s out, it’s time to relax, decompress, and have fun with friends. Yet taking a break from school does not mean kids development is on vacation. Summertime at the Y focuses on the three key drivers of impact that inspire healthy youth development journeys: achievement, relationships and belonging. Through Y summer programs, the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of all youth are nurtured and celebrated, resulting in the BEST SUMMER EVER.

The YMCA of Southeast Texas day camp provides a safe, supportive environment for your child. The YMCA provides experiences to develop and nurture self-esteem in an inclusive environment. Activities include creative art projects, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, physical fitness, STEAM activities, swimming, and much more. The YMCA develops character by teaching and demonstrating values. We use positive adult role models to teach the four basic values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualified Staff

The YMCA child care staff must complete 30 hours of training annually. They are also CPR and First Aid certified. Satisfactory background checks are required prior to employment for all staff. The YMCA program operates on a 1:15 staff to student ratio.

Affordable Fees & Financial Assistance Program

Reasonable affordable fees are offered to provide an opportunity for all children to participate. Our financial assistance sliding fee scale is available to families based on income level. Financial assistance availability is contingent on availability of funds. Financial assistance must be turned in 2 weeks prior to registering for program.
